‘Nahid’ awarded Golden SHIKA in Japan

TEHRAN, Sep. 24 (MNA) – Aida Panahandeh’s ‘Nahid’ has received the major trophy of Golden SHIKA in Nara International Film Festival in Japan.

The ancient city of Nara hosts the biannual film festival. The 5th edition was held September 17-23 and 1,700 movies participated and 8 movies from the US, Switzerland, Germany, China, the Philippines, Norway, Japan, plus Iran’s ‘Nahid’ were accepted into the final round of competition.

The juries awarded the trophy to Aida Panahandeh’s movie screened in two sessions. Nahid, distributed by Noori, and produced by Bijan Emkanian, won ‘talent award for the best first or second international feature-length film’ in 4th Duhok International Film Festival.

Yet in a related story, Mohammadreza Kheradmand’s animated story ‘Entr'acte’ will vie for trophy in the 12th Indie-AniFest (Korea Independent Animation Film Festival) in Asia Road section of the festival. ‘Entr'acte’ had been screened Girona Film Festival in Spain and in Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival (SICAF). It is the latest animation by Soureh Film Club, is French for ‘between the acts.’ It relates the story of an Israeli snipper who, during 2014 Gaza War, posted in his Instagram page photos of his claimed targeting of 13 Palestinian children. Indie-AniFest will be held in Seoul’s animation center, September 22-27.
